The Procedure
The Mastopexy or Breast Lift is a surgical procedure designed to restore a more youthful, uplifted and aesthetically balanced shape to the breasts. It is a sophisticated procedure which involves reshaping the breast tissue, repositioning the nipple-areolar complex and removing excess loose skin.
When performed by a highly experienced plastic surgeon, such as Dr. Lu-Jean Feng, a mastopexy is much more than simply “lifting” the breasts. It is an artistic and technically demanding procedure that addresses the changes that occur from aging, pregnancy, breast feeding, weight fluctuations and gravity. It is also beneficial for women with a congenital breast deformity such as Tubular Breast Deformity.

I understand what beautiful natural breasts should look like and I have learned through my many years of experience how to meticulously reshape the underlying breast tissue and precisely reposition the nipple, while maintaining harmony with my patient’s body proportions. Dr. Feng's Post-Surgery Protocol
Healing time is very important to achieving a great result with very minimal signs of scars. The faster a patient heals, the better the quality of the scars and the sooner normal activity can be resumed. This is a very important consideration for the numerous out-of-state patients who come to Feng Clinic for this procedure.
The healing time following a breast lift is typically 2 weeks. The breast drains are usually in for only 2 to 3 days or once their drainage is under 30cc’s on each breast for a full 24 hour period. Most women go back to work after 1 week as long as their job does not require anything strenuous. During the first 2 weeks, the greatest risk for bleeding can occur so caution must be taken not to overdo it.
Beginning in the recovery room immediately following surgery, each patient is given fresh organic berries and filtered water instead of crackers and Ginger Ale. At the time of discharge, they receive 1 quart of Dr. Feng’s Signature Salad (contains 13 superfoods) and 1 quart of our fresh FengFit® Plant-Based soup to begin their healing journey. Dr. Feng is adamant that proper healing begins with good nutrition and therefore, she developed FengFit® Plant-Based Cuisine in 2011. Today, Dr. Feng’s food is sold in 11 Heinen’s Supermarkets in the Cleveland area.
The first week of healing following breast lift surgery is the most critical. Therefore, Dr. Feng’s standard post-op protocol involves 3 60-minute hyperbaric oxygen sessions and 3 red light treatments. These treatments help to speed up recovery time and they begin the day after surgery so the patient is seen on a daily basis. Most out-of-state patients plan on being in Cleveland for 1 full week from the day of surgery.

The procedure can take between 2 to 3 hours depending on the size, laxity of the skin and whether there is asymmetry between the two breasts. I am a perfectionist and work until I am 100% satisfied with the results.
With a healthy lifestyle including good nutrition, adequate sleep, amount and condition of your collagen, and ability to maintain weight the results should last 10 to 15 years. Your breasts will still look years younger even though your skin will continue to age over time. The number one thing to avoid, as it destroys the collagen in your skin, is sugar. If you have added breast implants or fat grafting to your breasts, it can also shorten the results of the breast lift because of increased weight resulting in greater stretch of the tissue.
Unfortunately, the answer is no because it is considered an elective cosmetic surgery that is not deemed as medically necessary.
I have always said that you get what you pay for. The cost of my Breast Lift procedure is based on the size and shape of the breasts and the amount of laxity in the skin and typically runs between $15,000 - $18,000. The price for this procedure also takes into account the years of experience and skill of the surgeon and also the market they reside in. Obviously, experienced plastic surgeons in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas charge much more for the same procedure than in Cleveland , Ohio.
Not necessarily because I am still dealing with loose skin, but this time there is scar tissue and possibly bad scars to deal with and correct.
Due to the type of anesthetics we use, it is no problem for several reasons. First and foremost, all of our anesthesiologists are highly experienced board certified doctors, not nurse anesthetists. Next, we don't use anesthetic gas to keep patients asleep. Instead, we have you breathing a combination of oxygen and air. This is much healthier for you than breathing gas. Then through an IV in your arm, you are receiving very fast-acting anesthetics that completely leave your system within 6 minutes after the surgery ends. This allows you to wake up quickly with no nausea and no hangover effect. You are alert and in control of yourself going into the Recovery Room.
